Background
Vi-Agroforestry is a Swedish non-profit, non-governmental organization registered in Kenya as an international NGO to provide development support to smallholder farmer families and their organizations to sustainably manage natural resources for poverty eradication.
Currently the organization is implementing the Regional Lake Victoria Farmer Organizations’ Agroforestry Programme (FOAP) and Kenya Agricultural Carbon Project in Kenya among others. Vi Agroforestry focuses on the following components: Organizational Development, Agroforestry, Environment and Climate Change, Farm Enterprise Development and Rural Financial Resource Mobilization, Lobbying and Advocacy, Mainstreaming Gender Equality, HIV & AIDS and Children & Youth.
Vi Agroforestry has operations in East Africa concentrating within the Lake Victoria Basin and has currently reached over one million people, mainly smallholder farmers, with training and capacity development, mainly in the areas of sustainable land management methods for Agriculture.
